The working principle of the light touch switch with bracket is based on its internal spring plate and contact structure. When the external force acts on the button of the switch, the spring plate will be deformed, so that the contact between the contact or disconnect. This design allows the switch to react quickly when slightly pressed to achieve on-off control of the circuit.
Tact Switch with Bracket's Feature
1. Actuation Force: Typically ranges from 160gf to 250gf (1.57N to 2.45N), providing optimal tactile feedback for user interaction. High-end variants offer adjustable actuation forces down to 50gf (0.49N) for specialized applications.
2. Travel Distance: Standard models feature 0.25mm pre-travel and 0.1mm over-travel, with total travel distances between 0.3mm to 0.7mm. Ultra-low profile designs achieve 0.15mm total travel for space-constrained PCBs.
3. Electrical Life: Rated for 100,000 to 500,000 cycles (IEC 60112 compliant) with contact resistance below 50mΩ. Gold-plated contacts extend lifespan to 1,000,000 cycles in low-current (≤100mA) applications.
4. Environmental Resistance: IP67-rated switches withstand operating temperatures from -40°C to +85°C. Dielectric strength reaches 250VAC for 1 minute (UL 61058-1 standard).
5. Package Dimensions: Surface-mount (SMD) types measure as small as 3.5×2.8×0.9mm (L×W×H), while through-hole versions maintain 6×6×5mm footprints with 0.5mm terminal pitch tolerance.
6. Electrical Ratings: Standard models handle 12VDC at 50mA, with high-current versions supporting 24VDC at 200mA. Insulation resistance exceeds 100MΩ at 500VDC (per IEC 60664-1).

1. Consumer Electronics: Tact switches are widely used in devices like remote controls, gaming controllers, and smart home systems. Their compact size and reliable performance make them ideal for user interfaces requiring quick, responsive input. For example, TV remotes use tact switches for channel selection and volume control, ensuring durability over thousands of presses.
2. Automotive Industry: In vehicles, tact switches are integrated into dashboards, infotainment systems, and steering wheel controls. Their resistance to vibration and harsh environments ensures consistent operation for functions like menu navigation, audio adjustments, and climate control settings.
3. Medical Devices: Tact switches are critical in medical equipment such as patient monitors, infusion pumps, and handheld diagnostic tools. Their tactile feedback helps healthcare professionals operate devices accurately, even in high-stress situations, while meeting strict hygiene and reliability standards.
4. Industrial Control Systems: Machinery and control panels often incorporate tact switches for start/stop functions, mode selection, or emergency stops. Their robust design withstands dust, moisture, and heavy usage, making them suitable for manufacturing and automation environments.
5. Wearable Technology: Fitness trackers, smartwatches, and wireless earbuds use miniature tact switches for power management and mode switching. Their low profile and energy efficiency align with the slim form factors and battery life requirements of modern wearables.
6. Aerospace & Defense: Tact switches are employed in aviation control panels, military communication devices, and satellite equipment. Their ability to function under extreme temperatures and pressures ensures reliability in mission-critical applications.
