8*8 Waterproof Tact Switch's Product Structure
The 8×8 waterproof tactile switch primarily consists of several components: the button, cover plate, dustproof and waterproof layer, waterproof layer, protruding points, spring contacts, base, and pins.
1.Button:Users activate the switch by pressing the button. The button material is typically PPA, PA66, or silicone. Button length can be customized from 6.5mm to 18mm. Multiple button colors are available, and matching protective sleeves or caps can be selected.
2.Cover Plate: While standard tactile switches typically feature metal cover plates, this waterproof tactile switch employs a PA66 cover plate. The high strength, low warpage, and hydrolysis resistance of PA66 ensure the cover plate resists deformation under external pressure or impact. This maintains the integrity of the sealing structure, preventing moisture from infiltrating the switch interior.
3.Dustproof and Waterproof Layer 1:The dustproof and waterproof layer 1 of the 8×8 waterproof tactile switch is made of silicone material, primarily leveraging silicone's advantages in waterproof sealing, chemical resistance, temperature resistance, elasticity and durability, as well as environmental safety.
4.Waterproofing Layer 2: Tape. This type of tape is commonly used for sealing and bonding between buttons and the housing.
5.Raised Dot Cap Head:PA66.Its core functions include enhancing operational precision, improving haptic feedback, and optimizing waterproof sealing.
6.Spring Contact:Sliver-plated Copper.
7.Base:PA66
8.Terminal:Typically own 4 pins, these are generally made of brass with tin or silver plating.
IP67 8*8 Tactile Switch's Product Operating Principle
When the user presses the switch, the applied pressure causes the internal metal spring to undergo instantaneous deformation. The moving contact beneath the spring makes contact with the stationary contact on the circuit board, forming an electrical path. At this point, current flows through the switch's terminals, enabling signal transmission. Upon releasing the pressure, the metal spring returns to its original shape due to its elastic properties. The contacts separate, breaking the electrical circuit. The switch base (PA66) and cover plate (PA66) form a sealed cavity through laser welding or secondary molding. An internal plastic pressure plate continuously compresses the silicone gasket, combined with dual waterproof O-rings, significantly enhancing water resistance. This design is suitable for scenarios demanding extremely high waterproofing standards.
