6*6 IP67 Tactile Switch's Overview

 To meet demands for compact equipment space and high waterproof ratings, we have expanded our product line from the 12×12 waterproof tact switch series to the 8×8 waterproof tact switch series, and now introduce the 6×6 waterproof tact switch series. The 6×6 waterproof tact switch is an electronic switch with dimensions of 6mm × 6mm and waterproof functionality. Its height is customizable (e.g., 4.3mm–12mm) to accommodate varying equipment space requirements. It is commonly found in smartphones and portable electronic devices.

Structural Components 

Base and Top Cover: Form a sealed chamber via laser welding or snap-fit construction to prevent moisture ingress. 

Metal Spring Contact: Deforms under pressure to make/break electrical connections, serving as the switch's core conductive element. 

Sealing Assembly: Silicone gaskets, dual waterproof O-rings, or water barrier sleeves enhance water resistance; some models incorporate moisture-absorbing sponges for humidity monitoring. 

Pin Design: Supports surface-mount (SMD) or dual in-line package (DIP) configurations to accommodate diverse PCB mounting requirements. 

Operating Principle 

Press-to-Close: When the button is pressed, the metal spring deforms to short-circuit the contacts, completing the circuit. Upon release, the spring resets, breaking the circuit. 

Signal Transmission: The contact status is transmitted via pins to the circuit board. Some models integrate PCBA circuits to recognize complex operations like long presses and short presses. 

Waterproofing Process 

Sealed Chamber: The base and mounting slot form an enclosed space, sealed against external water ingress by a snap-fit waterproof membrane. 

Drainage Design: Select models feature drainage holes to prevent performance degradation from water accumulation. 

Humidity Monitoring: An integrated micro-humidity sensor continuously monitors humidity levels within the mounting slot, triggering an alarm mechanism when thresholds are exceeded.

Our DIP switches are typically packaged in plastic bags, then placed inside cardboard boxes, and finally loaded into large shipping cartons. 

Due to varying product heights, the minimum packaging quantity per bag may differ. Please consult customer service for specific details.
