The 8*8*5mm silent tact switch operates by mechanically deforming conductive rubber to complete a “break-close-reset-break” cycle, eliminating metallic contact noise for silent actuation.
The process occurs in three distinct phases:
1.Initial Disconnected State: In its natural state, the conductive rubber block maintains separation from the conductive contacts through its inherent elasticity. The circuit remains open with
no current flow.
2.Pressure-Activated Conductive Stage: When external force is applied perpendicularly to the button, the conductive rubber block depresses downward and tightly contacts the two sets of
contacts on thePCB. This forms a conductive path. Current flows through the contacts and the conductive rubber block, triggering the terminal device to execute the corresponding command.
3.Reset Disconnection Stage: Upon removal of external force, the conductive rubber block relies on its own elasticity to return to its original state, rapidly separating from the PCB contacts
and immediately breaking the circuit.
Principle of Silent Operation
Compared to the “click” sound of traditional metal-spring tactile switchhes, this product achieves silence through dual design features: First, replacing rigid metal springs with flexible conductive
rubber eliminates metallic impact noise during contact and reset; Second, it incorporates internal damping structures (such as rubber washers and flexible bases) to absorb vibration energy
during pressing and rebound, further reducing mechanical friction noise and ensuring completely silent operation throughout the entire process.
