The function of the protective cover for waterproof tactile switches
1. Enhanced Waterproofing and Dustproofing (Core FunctioThe protective sleeve is made of one-piece molded silicone/rubber material, forming
a dual-seal structure with the switch body and button cap. This elevates the protection rating from basic water resistance to IP67, enabling it to
withstand harsh conditions such as high-pressure water jets and short-term immersion.
The sleeve's enveloping design completely blocks dust, oil, and fine particles from entering the switch interior, preventing contact short circuits
or reed switch jamming. This makes it particularly suitable for dusty and humid environments like outdoor equipment and automotive chassis.
2. Mechanical Protection and Impact Resistance
The sleeve's elastic material absorbs impact forces during actuation, cushioning external forces from directly striking internal springs and contacts.
This reduces mechanical wear, extending the switch's actuation lifespan from the standard 500,000 cycles to over 1,000,000 cycles.
The casing blocks external contaminants (e.g., metal shavings, liquid splashes) from corroding pins and solder joints, preventing pin bending and
