Why was the 2P waterproof Tactile Switch designed?

1. Simplified Wiring and Reduced Costs

The 2P design eliminates redundant pins, simplifying PCB routing. It is particularly suitable for scenarios requiring only on/off functionality, 

significantly reducing material and soldering costs in mass production.

2. Enhanced Installation Stability

The raised “flanged” structure on the sides snaps into PCB mounting holes, achieving mechanical positioning before soldering. This prevents 

misalignment during SMT placement, boosting assembly efficiency. It also improves vibration resistance, preventing solder joint failure caused 

by vehicle or industrial equipment vibrations.

3. Meets IP67 Waterproofing Requirements

The flanged structure, combined with the silicone button cap and base, forms a complete sealed cavity. Paired with the anti-siphon design at 

the bottom, it achieves IP67-rated waterproofing and dustproofing, capable of withstanding harsh outdoor environments like humidity and car 

wash spray.

4. Import Substitution and Standardization Solution

This serves as a direct replacement for overseas waterproof switches with flanges of identical specifications, addressing the pain points of long 

lead times and high costs associated with imported products. It is compatible with existing 6×6mm switch mounting holes, eliminating the need 

for new tooling.
